An art exhibition titled “Ritual to Get Rid of Unnecessary Thoughts” is set to take place at the historic Fonarnye Baths from June 11 to June 23, 2025, inviting visitors to explore themes of mental and physical renewal. The project, a collaboration between MYTH Gallery, Grabar Gallery, and Fonarnye Baths, will feature works by eighteen artists.
The exhibition includes a diverse range of artistic mediums, such as textile objects, metal sculptures, painting, and audio installations. Notable artists participating in the project include Recycle Group, Irina Korina, Petr Kiryusha, Vadim Mikhailov, and Ulyana Podkorytova.
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore normally inaccessible spaces and hidden courtyards within the Fonarnye Baths. Among the featured installations is a cascade of hand-painted clay vases by Vova Perkin, along with works inspired by folklore traditions.
The project aims to tap into the growing trend of “slowing down” and the renewed interest in bathhouses as spaces for mental and physical well-being. Fonarnye Baths, originally designed by Pavel Syuzor in a style reminiscent of Roman baths and restored in 2021, provides a fitting setting for this exhibition focused on comprehensive cleansing.
Those interested in experiencing the “Ritual to Get Rid of Unnecessary Thoughts” can only do so through guided mediations. Note that the exhibition is intended for audiences aged 16 and older. At the entrance, visitors can choose to attend the exhibition, visit the buffet, or use the bathhouse facilities, with mediations offered at a lower cost than traditional bathing. The project seeks to guide individuals toward a state of “earthly paradise” by exploring paths to cleanse the mind and body.
