Police in Omsk are investigating the death of a Rottweiler after its owner claimed it was stung to death by bees from a neighboring property. The incident occurred in the “Derevoobrabotchik” garden association, prompting complaints from two women in the dacha community.
The owner of the Rottweiler, identified in an anonymous online post, alleges the dog named Rada died from anaphylactic shock following the bee attack in late May. The dog was reportedly just over a year old.
The beekeeper confirmed he kept bees on his property and had 7 hives, but stated that only one hive remained at the location at the time of the incident, as he had moved the others to a forest. He said he found the Rottweiler tied to a fence between the properties with a few bees on it.
According to the beekeeper, he removed the bees and transported the dog to a veterinary clinic with a friend, but the animal died en route. He claims the veterinarian could not determine the exact cause of death through a visual examination. The beekeeper has since removed the remaining hive from his property.
One woman had initially complained to the police that her Rottweiler was bitten by the bees, while a second woman complained about bee stings. However, police clarified that the information about the woman injured by bee stings was not confirmed.
