Trading House “Trans-Alpha” has lodged a formal complaint against the results of an electronic auction for the procurement of 60 electric buses for St. Petersburg, leading to the suspension of the procedure. This action follows the selection of a winning bidder and throws the acquisition process into uncertainty.
Trans-Alpha’s grievance stems from the rejection of their application, which the commission deemed non-compliant due to concerns about the adequacy of the provided guarantee. The company alleges that the customer applied inappropriate recommendations during the evaluation process.
In response, Trans-Alpha is demanding the annulment of the protocol summarizing the auction results, seeking to overturn the decision. The complaint, officially filed on June 5th, is scheduled for review on June 10th.
During the auction, MAZ presented the most competitive price offer, substantially reducing the initial price. MAZ lowered the starting price by 40%, from 3 billion to 1.8 billion. This significant reduction potentially allows for the procurement of 100 electric buses instead of the originally planned 60 within the allocated 3 billion budget.
Notably, Trans-Alpha has prior experience as a supplier to St. Petersburg, having fulfilled a previous contract for 28 Sirius electric buses, which are currently in operation.
