Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the implementation of new benefits for fathers raising three or more children. This announcement came during a meeting with large families, prompted by a specific request for additional support.

The impetus for this decision arose from a discussion with a large family from the Sverdlovsk region. The family highlighted that current regulations only consider childcare periods for up to four children when calculating retirement seniority, overlooking subsequent children. They also pointed out the absence of benefits specifically targeted at fathers in large families.

Putin responded to the family’s concerns, acknowledging their request and stating that the matter had been under consideration for some time. He assured them that the government is actively working on finalizing these measures and expressed confidence that the legislative body would support the initiative.

Putin emphasized the government’s ongoing commitment to expanding family support programs and integrating them into a comprehensive system. He also called upon regional and municipal authorities, public organizations, and businesses to increase their assistance to large families, helping them address their unique challenges.
