The Russian Ministry of Justice and the Prosecutor General’s Office have designated two additional organizations as “undesirable” within the country. This information was officially released on the Ministry of Justice’s website.

The two entities added to the “blacklist” are the American “Association for Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies” and Radio Echo GmbH, a German-registered company that owns the online publication and radio station “Ekho.”

Radio Echo GmbH operates under the “Ekho” brand, relaunched after the liquidation of “Ekho Moskvy” in March 2022. The online publication and internet radio are managed by Maxim Kurnikov, with the company legally registered in Germany.

The “Association for Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies,” established in 1948, focuses on the study and dissemination of knowledge regarding the history, politics, culture, and social life of former Soviet countries, as well as nations in Eastern and Central Europe.
