Renovation work has commenced in the park named after the 50th anniversary of the Komsomol on Yasnaya Street, commonly known as the “dog park,” with the city administration confirming the start of improvements.
Gravel has been delivered, platforms are being filled, and signal tapes have been placed around trees in the park. The city administration stated that these improvements were initially discussed and planned back in 2021, with sketches presented at that time.
The mayor’s office reports that preparatory work and marking are currently underway. The park will remain open to the public during the renovation, with the improvement process divided into stages to minimize disruption.
While the exact start and end dates for the work are not yet known, previous plans from 2021 included the creation of designated sports areas, a separate dog walking area, and a philosophical garden. The park is also slated to receive new paths, entrance features, and improvements to the coastal zone.
It remains uncertain whether the original plans from four years ago have been modified. Specific details about the current improvements are still pending.
In addition to the park renovation, there are plans to construct a dormitory for athletes nearby. Although residents have expressed opposition, the mayor’s office maintains that the construction site is separate from the park’s territory.
