Traffic on Prospekt Mira in Moscow experienced significant disruptions following a break in the overhead contact line. The incident, reportedly caused by a car damaging the wires, led to delays and temporary suspension of tram services.

Tram lines #7 and #50 were affected, and a left turn from Prospekt Mira onto Protopopovsky Lane was temporarily blocked as emergency services worked to address the situation.

Traffic police, the Traffic Management Center (TsODD), and Mosmetro emergency service vehicles responded to the scene at the intersection with Protopopovsky Lane to manage traffic flow and ensure public safety. TsODD personnel were observed redirecting vehicles.

At 3:56 PM, tram traffic was restored, according to the Department of Transport. Workers were actively involved in stringing new wires to replace the damaged ones.

In addition to the traffic incident, preparations for the upcoming Kurban Bayram celebration are underway, with fences being installed along Prospekt Mira near the Cathedral Mosque. Several street closures and changes to public transport operations are expected in Moscow due to the Kurban Bayram celebration. Two additional sites have been allocated for the event.
