A 3.5-meter bronze monument dedicated to journalist and political scientist Darya Dugina is set to be installed in the Moscow region by August 20, the anniversary of her death. Andrei Ivanov, head of the Odintsovo urban district, announced the plans on his Telegram channel on June 5.
Sculptor Dmitry Alexandrov, who personally knew Dugina, created the sketch for the monument. Alexandrov aimed to capture the synthesis of feminine lightness and masculinity that he remembered in her.
The area surrounding the monument will also be improved with the installation of benches and lighting.
Darya Dugina, daughter of philosopher Alexander Dugin, died on August 20, 2022, when her car exploded after she left the Tradition festival.
