A murder investigation has been launched in Moscow after a woman’s body was discovered in an apartment on Stroiteley Street. The Investigative Committee reported the grim find on June 4th.

The victim was found inside a plastic bag, lying on the floor, with multiple injuries to her head and a gag in her mouth. The nature of the injuries indicates a violent death.

Law enforcement officials found a possible murder weapon during their examination of the apartment. A criminal case has been initiated under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which pertains to murder.

The victim’s daughter has been detained as a suspect in the murder. She is expected to be taken to the station for questioning. If convicted, she could face a prison sentence of up to 15 years.

This incident follows the recent discovery of a 13-year-old boy’s body in a river in the Moscow region. The teenager had been missing for five days and was found to have been killed by a tractor driver.
