Roman Evtushenko has been appointed as the new General Director of MetroGiproTrans, the company responsible for designing the St. Petersburg metro. This change in leadership follows BTS-Most becoming the controlling shareholder in MetroGiproTrans.
Evtushenko replaces Oleg Yegorushkov in the role. Prior to this appointment, Evtushenko held key positions in Moscow’s metro construction sector.
From 2005 to 2018, he was with USK-Most, now known as BTS-Most, a company owned by Ruslan Baysarov. BTS-Most is currently involved in the construction of the Krasnoselskoye depot in St. Petersburg. The company is also considered a leading candidate for the construction of the metro line to Pulkovo Airport and Expoforum. They recently registered “MetroStroy-SPb” in St. Petersburg.
Most recently, until early 2025, Evtushenko led the metro directorate at Mosinzhproekt, the organization building the Moscow metro. He is currently the CEO of Moscow’s “SMU-1 Metrostroy,” a company half-owned by Mosinzhproekt.
The change in management at MetroGiproTrans, coupled with BTS-Most’s controlling stake, has fueled speculation regarding the company’s future involvement in significant infrastructure projects in St. Petersburg, including the metro expansion and potentially the ShMSD project.
