Sevinchoy Abdurasulova has been sentenced to one year in a penal colony for causing the death of a child by negligence. The Moscow District Court announced the verdict after Abdurasulova accidentally dropped a baby in the bath, resulting in the child’s death.

The incident took place on October 15, 2024, when Abdurasulova was washing the baby in the bath and accidentally dropped him. The child hit his head and later died in the Filatov Children’s Hospital.

During the trial, the child’s father requested the dismissal of the criminal case after Abdurasulova apologized and paid 170,000 rubles in compensation. The parents had forgiven the nanny for the accident.

However, the prosecutor opposed the motion, arguing that human life is irreplaceable and the compensation did not diminish the public danger of the crime. The court ultimately denied the motion to dismiss the case.

The court credited the time Abdurasulova spent in custody, effectively considering her sentence served.
