Nadezhda Gugumberidze, a mother of two, including a child with disabilities, was severely injured in a motorcycle accident near the “Europe-Asia” stele in Yekaterinburg. The accident occurred when a yellow Isuzu, driven by Alexey Grom, collided with her motorcycle.
Gugumberidze sustained serious injuries, including an open lower leg fracture and a traumatic brain injury. She is currently undergoing complex surgery, and it is uncertain if doctors can save her leg.
The motorcycle community has rallied in support of Gugumberidze, with many offering assistance and donating blood. Her sister, Lyudmila, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and stated that a fundraiser has been organized for her rehabilitation.
Grom, the driver of the Isuzu, has a history of traffic violations and unpaid penalties. He was involved in a minor collision with another motorcyclist just two weeks prior, leading some to suspect intentional actions.
Gugumberidze has been riding motorcycles for 6-7 years and is known for her careful driving, particularly due to her responsibility of caring for her disabled son. Despite her challenges, she managed to balance work and her son’s medical needs, with her youngest son recently discharged from the hospital where she stayed with him.
