Train traffic on the Moscow Central Diameters (MCD-1) experienced disruptions due to a technical issue, causing delays and altered routes for passengers. The incident occurred on a section of the Savelovsky direction, specifically between Moscow Butyrskaya and Beskudnikovo.
The Moscow Railway confirmed that an electric train made an unscheduled stop due to technical reasons. As a result, train traffic on the affected section was reorganized to operate on a single track in reverse mode.
This operational change has led to delays for long-distance suburban trains on the Savelovsky and Belorussky directions, as well as increased intervals for MCD-1 trains. The Moscow Railway has issued an apology for the inconvenience and stated that they are taking measures to restore the train schedule.
According to passenger accounts, the disruption was caused by a broken contact wire. Telegram channels reported a cable break on the Timiryazevskaya — Okruzhnaya section near train 6180 Golitsyno — Dmitrov, with one channel claiming that two current collectors burned out on the electric train.
The incident follows a series of recent malfunctions affecting various services in Russia, including air transportation, pharmacy chains, and food delivery. A hacker group has claimed responsibility for a cyberattack on Aeroflot, and disruptions in pharmacy operations were also attributed to hacker intervention. While a temporarily non-working delivery application and a failure in a fast food chain are not officially linked to cyberattacks, some media outlets have raised concerns about such a connection.
