Russian air defense systems reportedly intercepted and destroyed a large number of drones targeting several regions, including Belgorod and Rostov, on the night of August 1st. The Ministry of Defense stated that a total of 60 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles were intercepted between 11:30 PM on July 31st and 4:10 AM on August 1st.

The Belgorod region faced the most intense drone activity, with 31 UAVs reportedly destroyed. Following closely behind, 12 drones were intercepted over the Rostov region.

Other regions targeted included the Krasnodar Territory (5), the Black Sea (4), the Voronezh region (3), the Lipetsk and Tula regions (2 each), and the Sea of Azov (1).

Authorities in the Rostov and Voronezh regions have reported some damage as a result of the attacks. In Rostov, several houses sustained damage, and fires broke out. The governor of the Tula region indicated that no damage to infrastructure or buildings occurred in that area.
