St. Petersburg is under a “yellow” level weather hazard alert due to expected thunderstorms. The city administration’s press service announced the alert, citing information from Roshydrometcenter.
The potentially dangerous weather is forecast to last from 12:00 on Friday, August 1st, to 21:00 on Saturday, August 2nd. Thunderstorm activity is the primary concern.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations had previously warned residents about the deteriorating weather conditions expected to begin on August 1st. Showers, thunderstorms, and wind gusts of up to 15 m/s are predicted in some locations.
The weather has already begun to worsen, with thunderstorms and hail reported in parts of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.
