An 18-year-old suspect faces criminal charges after a shooting incident in the “Gorki Park” residential complex in the Moscow region, which resulted in an 11-year-old boy being injured. The Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow Region is handling the case, and a preventive measure for the detainee will be chosen soon.

The incident occurred in the village of Korobovo, Leninsky urban district, within the Gorki Park residential complex. Witnesses reported that two young men were firing at passers-by from a sixth-floor balcony on Aviatorov Street.

Law enforcement officials detained two individuals, ages 17 and 18, in connection with the shooting. The adult suspect is being charged under Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, “hooliganism”.

An 11-year-old boy sustained a gunshot wound to the stomach during the incident. He was reportedly walking with friends in the courtyard of the building when he was hit.

Investigators have interrogated the suspect, the victim, and eyewitnesses. A forensic medical examination has been scheduled, and the weapon used in the crime has been confiscated. The investigation intends to petition the court to select a preventive measure for the suspect in the near future.

The young victim stated that approximately 15 shots were fired in the vicinity of himself and his friends, prompting them to seek cover.
