Peter the Great Botanical Garden to Host “Immigrants of the New World” Festival

The Peter the Great Botanical Garden will host the “Immigrants of the New World” festival on August 2-3, 2025, offering a variety of floral exhibitions and activities. The festival celebrates plants originating from North America.

Admission to the festival on August 2-3 is free for visitors who come dressed in a full cowboy or Native American costume (excluding horses).

A key highlight of the festival will be the “World of Phloxes” exhibition, running from July 31 to August 3 in the “Green House” pavilion. This exhibition will feature cut plants from the Garden’s collections and the Phlox Lovers Society. Visitors can inquire about agricultural techniques and specific phlox varieties. In Greek, “phlox” means “flame,” and while there are over eighty species, the panicle phlox is the ancestor of many garden varieties.

Another attraction is the “Fuchsia Festival 2025” exhibition, presented by the “Fuchsimania” community. This exhibition will showcase approximately one hundred fuchsia varieties, with a focus on natural types from the Botanical Garden and private collections. Presentations of different flower varieties, breeders’ master classes, and discussions will take place. Visitors can also exchange flowers and purchase planting material.

During the festival, visitors can explore the park with a route map to discover the flora of North America. The Botanical Museum exhibition will be open, and attendees can stroll along the Tropical Greenhouse route, including visits to the Palm and Victoria greenhouses. A creative center will host master classes for children aged four and older.
