An elderly woman in St. Petersburg is in intensive care after being stabbed by her tenant. The incident occurred at a residence on 5th Sovetskaya Street, leading to the arrest of the 52-year-old tenant.

Police were alerted to the situation after a neighbor reported that the 85-year-old landlady had been attacked. The neighbor stated the elderly woman was covered in blood after being assaulted by her tenant.

Responding officers found the injured pensioner in her apartment with multiple stab wounds. She was immediately transported to Mariinsky Hospital for treatment.

Simultaneously, another report came in about a woman found injured outside the building. The suspect, the tenant, was discovered lying near the house with multiple fractures.

Preliminary investigations suggest that following the attack, the tenant attempted to flee. After realizing the landlady had sought refuge with a neighbor, the suspect tried to escape by jumping from a visor above the main entrance, resulting in her injuries.

The suspect is also in intensive care at a separate hospital. Authorities have opened a criminal case for attempted murder in connection with the incident.

According to reports, the suspect has a history of legal trouble. She was previously prosecuted for a similar crime in the late 1990s, but was acquitted by the court and committed to a mental health facility.
