A potential tragedy was averted at a bar on Lunacharsky Avenue when two servicemen disarmed an armed and rowdy individual who threatened to shoot everyone inside. The incident occurred at “KultBar” at 76/2 Lunacharsky Avenue around 2 a.m. on July 17.

The man, a former employee, entered the bar with a “Saiga” rifle and two dozen cartridges, initially spewing obscenities before making threats. According to a witness, the bar staff remained calm despite the situation.

The witness, who wished to remain anonymous, recounted that he and a friend, both Airborne Forces veterans, were relaxing at the bar when they noticed a man behaving provocatively. The man’s behavior escalated from making crude jokes to harassing female patrons, and eventually offering to fight the servicemen outside while threatening to use his rifle.

After the man exited the bar, he returned with a rifle, prompting the servicemen to disarm him from behind with the help of other patrons. They then tied him up with scarves and called the police.

The witness emphasized the potential danger, stating that the rifle’s magazine was already loaded. He believes that if the man had entered the main bar area, the outcome could have been devastating.

The man was taken to the police station and initially received a protocol for petty hooliganism, but a criminal case is potentially being initiated.
