Traffic Restrictions Expected in St Petersburg and Leningrad Region Due to Events and Filming

Drivers in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region should prepare for traffic disruptions in the coming days due to cultural events, sporting competitions, and film shoots. Restrictions have already begun, impacting various routes and public transportation.

In St. Petersburg, the International Street Theater Festival “Yelagin Park” has led to a parking prohibition on Ryukhina Street, from Morskoy Prospekt to Martynova Embankment, which started July 18 and lasts until 8:30 PM. Traffic will also be blocked on this section from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM.

A Zenit football match at Gazprom Arena on July 20 will cause extensive road closures. From midnight to 11:59 PM, Savina Street, Grebnoy Canal Embankment, Krestovsky Prospekt, Yuzhnaya Road, and Severnaya Road will be closed to traffic. Additionally, from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Ryukhina Street, Martynova Embankment, Tennis Alley, and Velosipednaya Alley will face restrictions. Stopping will also be prohibited on several of these roads throughout the day.

Filming for “The Noise of Time” will shut down Millionnaya Street, from Moshkov Lane to the Winter Canal Embankment, and the Winter Canal Embankment from July 22 to July 24. Stopping will also be prohibited on Millionnaya Street during this period.

Further filming for the movie “Baltic Sea” will cause disruptions on Makarovskaya Street on July 24 and 25. Stopping will be prohibited on the odd side of Makarovskaya Street from 1:00 AM on July 24. Passage will be closed on Makarovskaya from Siny Bridge to Kommunisticheskaya Street – but no more than 10 minutes per hour, beginning at 11:00 AM on July 24.

In the Leningrad Region, the “Gran Fondo of the Leningrad Region” cycling race on July 20 will affect traffic in the Priozersky district. From 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, sections of the “Ushkovo – Graviynoye” and “Orekhovo – Sosnovo – Krivko – Petyayarvi railway station” roads will be closed. The old direction of the A-121 “Sortavala” highway will be closed from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Due to these closures, the routes of buses No. 645, 645A, and 859 will be modified from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Bus No. 859 will only serve the SNT “Progress” stop before heading directly to Murino.
