Residents of an apartment building on Akademika Parina Street in Yekaterinburg are battling a persistent cockroach infestation. The problem has reportedly plagued the building for two years, with residents claiming the insects have taken over their apartments.

The building’s management company asserts that regular pest control treatments are conducted. These treatments primarily target garbage chutes and bins, which are considered breeding grounds for cockroaches.

Residents, however, dispute the effectiveness of these treatments. They say that the cockroach population continues to grow. One resident, Ekaterina, stated that treatments are only carried out in one entrance when multiple complaints are lodged, causing the cockroaches to simply move to other areas of the building.

The management company stated they are aware of the complaints and are taking action. They claim to have already carried out additional treatments at the Parina Street building and plan to repeat them until the infestation is resolved. The company representative also said that residents are welcome to observe the treatment process.

Similar cockroach infestations have been reported in other facilities in the region. Notably, patients at the Verkhnyaya Pyshma Central City Hospital complained about the presence of cockroaches in the wards.
