A criminal case of hooliganism has been initiated following an assault on a 14-year-old boy in St. Petersburg. The Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee for the city announced the opening of the case on June 4.

According to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for St. Petersburg and the region, the incident occurred on June 2 at approximately 5:48 PM in the entrance of a residential building on Pervomaiskaya Street in the village of Shushary.

Responding to a report of a disturbance, police officers discovered the injured teenager, a concierge, and several residents at the scene. The conflict reportedly began when the boy was distributing advertising leaflets in mailboxes.

Witnessing residents joined the dispute, and one of them allegedly struck the teenager on the head. The injured boy sustained a head contusion and was subsequently hospitalized.

The teenager’s condition is described as moderate. The individual accused of attacking him was apprehended and taken to the police station.

Both the Investigative Committee and the Ministry of Internal Affairs are currently conducting investigations to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
