A raid at St. Petersburg’s Sennoy Market led to the identification of immigration violations. The operation, which took place on June 4th, was conducted by investigators and police officers.
The Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for St. Petersburg reported that the raid was initiated following reports of a large gathering of visitors at the market.
During the operation, authorities checked the documents of traders. The Investigative Department for the Admiralteysky District, along with the police, identified violations of migration laws.
The collected materials from the inspection have been handed over to the relevant departments for further examination. Those found responsible will face administrative penalties.
In February, a similar raid occurred at the Sennoy Market involving military investigators, the Rosgvardia, and military police. During that operation, twenty-two migrants were taken to the military registration and enlistment office for verification of their military registration status.
