Perekrestok Grocery Store Leaves Antey Shopping Center Due to Rent Increase

The Perekrestok grocery store in the Antey shopping center has closed permanently, prompting a search for a new tenant. The closure follows failed negotiations between Perekrestok and the shopping center’s owner regarding rental costs.

Andrei Gavrilovsky, the owner of Antey, stated that the rent was raised to market rate, which Perekrestok refused to pay. According to Gavrilovsky, Perekrestok acknowledged the fairness of the price but declined to meet the financial terms, leading to the termination of their contract. Gavrilovsky also mentioned that two potential replacements have already expressed interest in the space and agree to the rental conditions. A final decision on the new tenant is expected within a month.

In contrast, the X5 network, which owns Perekrestok, offered a concise statement indicating that the closure is part of a relocation program. They are actively seeking an alternative location to replace the Antey supermarket.

Despite the closure in Antey, Perekrestok is expanding elsewhere, with a new store slated to open in Alatyr. This new location will occupy the space previously held by a Magnet hypermarket, which closed its doors in the spring.

However, another Perekrestok location is facing potential closure due to construction plans in the Southwest area where it is situated. The building currently housing the store is located within a designated construction zone, raising concerns about its future.
