A criminal investigation has been launched in the Kirishi district of the Leningrad region following the discovery of a two-year-old girl who was left unattended. The investigative department is handling the case, which falls under the article concerning abandonment endangering a minor.
The incident occurred when the child’s mother allegedly left her in a stroller on the street in the middle of the night before returning home. Authorities were alerted to the situation around 1:00 AM the previous day.
Police officers who responded to the call arranged for the child to be taken to a hospital by ambulance to ensure her well-being.
The mother has been identified. Preliminary reports indicate that the woman, who works as a landscaper, was intoxicated at the time and left her daughter on a playground.
Following questioning by investigators, the woman was released on her own recognizance, pending further investigation.
