A 19-year-old girl is recovering after a severe car accident involving a tractor near Nizhny Tagil in March. Ural doctors are credited with helping her regain her mobility and health after the crash.
The State Traffic Inspectorate of Nizhny Tagil reported that the accident occurred when the girl lost control of her vehicle and entered the oncoming lane, colliding with a tractor.
Following the accident, the victim was immediately transported to the Demidov City Hospital. The regional Ministry of Health described her condition upon arrival as “extremely serious,” citing an open head injury, heart and lung contusions, and numerous fractures.
After initial stabilization, the girl was transferred to Yekaterinburg to receive specialized care at the Veterans Affairs Hospital. There, a team of neurosurgeons, traumatologists, and neurologists worked to aid her recovery. The Ministry of Health emphasized that her recovery is considered a remarkable achievement.
According to the Ministry of Health, after a month of treatment, the patient was able to sit up. She has since progressed to taking her first steps and is now able to move independently without the use of a cane. The girl is continuing her recovery.
