Office Building Collapses in Yekaterinburg, No Casualties Reported

An office building in Yekaterinburg, Russia, collapsed on July 29th in the Elizavet neighborhood. The incident occurred at a three-story building located on Martovskaya Street, 6.

Emergency services are currently dismantling the collapsed section of the building.

Fortunately, there have been no reported casualties as a result of the collapse.

According to reports, 21 people were evacuated from the building. These individuals were able to safely exit the premises after noticing cracks appearing in the walls.

Preliminary information suggests that the collapse may have been triggered by the recent loading of heavy equipment onto the building’s third floor. A source indicated that approximately three tons of heavy machinery were moved into the office space three days prior to the collapse. It was also noted that equipment was lifted into the building via crane earlier in the month, on July 2nd.

Rescue workers are currently on-site, searching the rubble to ensure no one is trapped.

The office building, which housed several businesses including “Lami,” “Selma,” and “Drive,” has reportedly been listed for sale since 2023, with an initial asking price of 20 million rubles.
