Aeroflot has resumed its flight schedule as of 10:00 AM on July 29th, following a hacker attack that disrupted its information systems. The airline anticipates operating a large majority of its flights to and from Moscow today.
The airline’s press service announced that 93% of flights from and to Moscow are planned to operate today, totaling 216 roundtrip flights out of a scheduled 233.
Data from Sheremetyevo Airport’s online scoreboard indicated that 22 Aeroflot flights were canceled between 00:00 and 12:00 PM on July 29th, with the majority of cancellations occurring before 10:00 AM.
The press service stated that the company implemented targeted flight cancellations until 10:00 AM, after which the flight program stabilized. Currently, flights are departing on schedule.
On July 28th, the airline managed to operate approximately 80% of its planned daily flight program.
Aeroflot had previously announced a failure in its information systems on July 28th. Subsequently, the Prosecutor General’s Office initiated a criminal case related to unauthorized access to computer information. The incident led to dozens of flight cancellations and delays.
