A forklift driver in St. Petersburg’s Kirovsky district died after being crushed by the very forklift he was operating. The incident occurred on the territory of an elevator platform, where the man’s body was discovered.

Preliminary investigations suggest the forklift overturned, pinning the driver underneath its weight. The man succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The Investigative Committee’s main Investigative Directorate for the city is currently investigating the incident. Authorities are conducting an inspection to determine if there were any violations of safety regulations during the work.

Based on the findings of the inspection, a procedural decision will be made regarding the incident.
