Two men, a 34-year-old and a 44-year-old, have been detained in Novosibirsk, Russia, as suspects in the murder and robbery at the Perspektiva screw pile factory located on Aviastroiteley Street. The suspects are identified as Denis Yakimov, 34, and Vadim Nemchenko, 44, who reportedly knew each other.
The crime occurred on the night of June 1st to June 2nd when the two men allegedly entered the factory premises. The suspects are accused of stealing tools and equipment valued at 1 million rubles, including screwdrivers, electric drills, and welding machines. They also allegedly stole a Gazelle belonging to the organization and a Kia belonging to the deceased security guard.
According to investigators, Yakimov, who worked as a welder at the factory, masterminded the robbery. Yakimov believed the watchman would be intoxicated and therefore would not notice the theft. He then enlisted Nemchenko, who has a history of theft and robbery, to assist him.
Nemchenko has a criminal record, including convictions for hooliganism, making threats of murder, and robbery. He was most recently sentenced in November of last year for stealing a phone.
Yakimov’s mother, residing in Buryatia, stated she learned of her son’s arrest from his bride and offered a brief reaction of “Well, let him sit.” The Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case under Article 105, Part 2 (murder), and Article 162, Part 4 (robbery) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
