Novosibirsk is seeking a contractor to develop a concept for improving transportation in Akademgorodok, with a maximum project cost of 6.2 million rubles. The MКУ “Road Construction Department” is the client for this public procurement.
The chosen contractor will be responsible for analyzing the current transportation situation in Akademgorodok, creating a transportation macro-model of the area, and proposing improvements to traffic conditions. These proposals will include recommendations for increasing road capacity, optimizing traffic light operation, and enhancing public transport organization. Furthermore, the contractor must compile a list of measures to improve population mobility.
The study will be conducted in two phases. The initial short-term analysis will focus on assessing peak-hour traffic to identify problematic sections of the road network.
A long-term study, projected over 20 years, will predict changes in traffic flows based on demographic, economic, and urban planning factors. This phase will also develop recommendations for adapting transport infrastructure to accommodate future traffic loads.
Funding for this project will come from the Novosibirsk budget for 2025. Applications are being accepted until June 17, and the work must be completed within 60 days of contract award.
A request has been submitted to the Novosibirsk City Hall press center to determine the timeline for implementing the contractor’s recommendations. Previously, plans for constructing an interchange near the River Station in Novosibirsk were announced, and experts have commented on its potential impact on traffic flow.
