Russia is set to launch a new preferential mortgage program in 2026 specifically for employees in the rocket and space industry. The initiative includes a subsidy within a national project to cover interest rate differences, according to Roscosmos head Dmitry Bakanov.
The program was announced at the “Digital Industry of Industrial Russia” conference, where Bakanov stated that the mechanism will be implemented starting next year.
This new program joins several existing and expanding preferential lending options in Russia. The “Family Car” program, for example, has been broadened to include families with two children, in addition to those with three or more.
Other eligible groups for the “Family Car” program include medical workers, educators, participants in the Special Military Operation (SMO) and their families, and citizens with disabilities. These individuals can purchase vehicles at a discount through the program.
In addition to these programs, fathers in large families will begin receiving benefits following a request from parents in the Sverdlovsk region. President Vladimir Putin has expressed his support for this initiative.
Furthermore, authorities are developing a separate preferential mortgage program specifically for military personnel and veterans of hostilities. This program would allow them to secure housing at a rate of 2%.
The Ministry of Finance has indicated that despite external factors, it intends to maintain existing preferential mortgage programs without tightening their conditions.
