A criminal case has been opened against the driver of a Rolls-Royce who struck a motorcyclist on Peterhof Highway in St. Petersburg. The Investigative Committee has charged 37-year-old businessman Sergei Sosorev with attempted murder for the May 31st incident.
The victim, a 35-year-old motorcyclist, remains in serious condition with combined injuries. Doctors are currently not allowing communication with him as they focus on stabilizing his condition and preparing him for surgery. He is undergoing treatment and doctors are fighting for his life.
The Dagestan representative office in St. Petersburg is attempting to locate the motorcyclist’s relatives. Nizamidin Kainbekov, the press secretary for the representative office, stated that they have not yet been able to reach them. Many individuals have offered to provide legal assistance to the injured man.
The incident occurred when the white Rolls-Royce, bearing memorable license plates, allegedly made a U-turn across a double solid line, colliding with the motorcyclist traveling in the same direction. Eyewitnesses claim the car ran over the motorcyclist twice, and there were attempts to conceal the vehicle’s license plates. Sosorev, who obtained his driver’s license last year, has a history of traffic violations, having been caught breaking traffic rules more than forty times.
