Russia has revised its national space project to synchronize all state-involved space endeavors following instructions from President Vladimir Putin. Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Bakanov announced the “fundamental revision” at the “Digital Industry of Industrial Russia” conference, according to TASS.
The restructuring integrates all state programs in the space sector into the national project. This move addresses the need for a cohesive and interconnected approach, as emphasized by the head of state.
The Ministry of Finance has approved 4.5 trillion rubles in funding for the revised “Space” national project, matching Roscosmos’s request. This financial commitment also includes funding for space nuclear energy, space science, and annual indexing.
The updated national project is expected to encompass various key initiatives. These include manned spaceflights, fundamental research of space objects, mass production of spacecraft for multi-satellite constellations, and the construction of a fully Russian orbital station.
