Train services at St. Petersburg’s Vitebsky Railway Station experienced significant delays on the afternoon of June 3rd due to a technical malfunction. Passengers reported waiting up to an hour for trains at various stations along the line.
The Oktyabrskaya Railway press service confirmed that a technical issue led to the closure of the first track on the St. Petersburg – Shushary section at 13:15. Train traffic was rerouted to the second track.
Passengers at Tsarskoye Selo station faced approximately a half-hour delay, while those at Kupchino station were held for around an hour. One passenger recounted that they were instructed to close the windows and the air conditioning was activated during the wait.
Electric train No. 6346 from Poselok to St. Petersburg was delayed by 40 minutes, and electric train No. 6548 from Pavlovsk to St. Petersburg was delayed by 19 minutes. Railway workers are actively working to minimize the delays.
