Vladimir Putin Awards Alexander Prokhanov the Title of Hero of Labor of the Russian Federation

Russian President Vladimir Putin has awarded writer Alexander Prokhanov the prestigious title of Hero of Labor of the Russian Federation. The decree, issued on Tuesday, June 3, recognizes Prokhanov’s significant contributions to the development of Russian culture and literature.

The presidential decree specifically cites “special services in the development of domestic culture and literature” as the reason for the honor. Prokhanov is identified as a writer and the editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Zavtra.”

Alexander Andreevich Prokhanov, born on February 26, 1938, in Tbilisi, is a well-known Russian writer, publicist, and public figure. After graduating from the Moscow Aviation Institute, he dedicated his life to literature and journalism. His experiences as a military correspondent in Afghanistan, Angola, and other conflict zones during the 1970s profoundly impacted his writing. Since 1993, he has served as the head of the newspaper “Zavtra” and has been a prominent figure in the Russian patriotic movement. Prokhanov has authored numerous novels, including notable works such as “Mr. Hexogen,” “The Third Way,” and “Kreutzer Sonata.”
