The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia has identified a cartel agreement between Alma-Med LLC and Makrus LLC during electronic auctions for the supply of medical equipment to state institutions. These auctions took place in St. Petersburg and the Kaliningrad Region.

The total initial maximum contract price for these auctions was 621,063,371 rubles.

The Antimonopoly Service found evidence that the companies coordinated their actions, utilizing a shared infrastructure to participate in the auctions. They also maintained consistent financial, economic, and business relationships. This conduct led to state contracts being awarded either without any price reduction or with only minimal reductions, effectively limiting competition within the market.

The FAS of Russia has determined that the companies’ actions violated antitrust laws. Consequently, the companies will face penalties as outlined in the Administrative Code. The case materials have been forwarded to law enforcement agencies for potential criminal prosecution.
