St. Petersburg Announces Traffic Restrictions for Scarlet Sails Festival

St. Petersburg is preparing for its annual “Scarlet Sails” выпускников (graduation) festival, necessitating several traffic restrictions throughout the city center. The restrictions, primarily affecting parking and road access, are scheduled to begin as early as June 5th and extend into July.

Parking restrictions will be in effect at various locations. Notably, parking will be prohibited on Birzhevaya Square near the Rostral Columns from June 5th to July 5th. Several other embankments and streets will also have parking restrictions during specific dates and times in June. These include Universitetskaya Embankment, Michurinskaya Street, Petrovskaya Embankment, and Konyushennaya Square.

The city will also narrow roadways in key areas. Palace Embankment, Admiralteyskaya Embankment, Universitetskaya Embankment, Michurinskaya Street, and Petrovskaya Embankment will experience lane reductions during specific periods. Significant narrowing will also occur on Palace Bridge and Kamennoostrovsky Prospekt, especially during the latter half of June.

Complete traffic closures are also planned. Blagoveshchensky Bridge, Trinity Bridge, and Palace Bridge will be temporarily closed to traffic on select dates in June. Additionally, Palace Embankment will be closed during early morning hours on several dates, and Palace Bridge will face complete closures on June 24th, June 25th, and June 30th. Trinity Bridge will also be closed from June 25th to June 29th.
