A 37-year-old businessman is being questioned by the Main Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region after allegedly running over a motorcyclist in a Rolls-Royce. The incident is under investigation.
The businessman failed to appear at the Main Investigation Department on Ligovsky Prospekt, 145, the previous day. According to reports, he initially declined to provide any explanations, invoking Article 51 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, before a criminal case was initiated.
On Tuesday morning, law enforcement contacted him by telephone and insisted on his presence for questioning.
He has yet to appear before the Investigative Committee of the Krasnoselsky district, which has opened a criminal case on suspicion of attempted murder. The viability of this case in the prosecutor’s office remains uncertain.
