The Gosuslugi portal plans to introduce a feature allowing users to designate a trusted person to confirm password changes, aiming to enhance account security and prevent hacking. This new option is expected to be available in the third quarter of the current year.

According to Maksut Shadaev, the Minister of Digital Development of the Russian Federation, users will be able to authorize a trusted individual with a Gosuslugi account to provide additional confirmation when a password change is requested. This measure is designed to provide an extra layer of protection against unauthorized access to user accounts.

The implementation of this function will be voluntary, allowing users to choose whether or not they wish to utilize this additional security measure. The goal is to protect users from complex and multi-component attacks by scammers that often begin with gaining access to the Gosuslugi portal.

Previously, the Ministry of Digital Development has explored potential integration with messaging platforms such as Telegram and Max messenger.
