Opening of the M-12 Highway Section in the Sverdlovsk Region Scheduled for July

The Sverdlovsk region section of the M-12 “Vostok” toll highway is slated to open in July 2025. Acting Governor Denis Pasler made the announcement at the Innoprom exhibition.

The construction of the M-12 “Vostok” highway is proceeding under the direction of Vladimir Putin. The highway’s extension to the Urals is being managed by the state company “Avtodor,” following the opening of the Moscow to Kazan section in late 2023.

The new 275 km Dyurtyuli-Achit section will traverse Bashkortostan, the Perm Territory, and the Sverdlovsk region. According to Pasler, preparations are actively underway, and progress towards Tyumen is evident. He emphasized the importance of the road due to significant passenger and cargo traffic.

Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin previously stated that the Dyurtyuli-Achit highway would be finished by June 2025. The completed work from contractors is currently being accepted on the new highway. A section of the future road is visible on Yandex maps and the Avtodor website, although it is not yet designated as operational.

Experts predict that the opening of the new M-12 section in the Urals will reduce travel time between Yekaterinburg and Moscow by up to ten hours.
