A 14-year-old schoolgirl was detained in Moscow for vandalizing a train on the MCD-4 (Moscow Central Diameters – 4) by smashing its windows. The incident occurred at the “Matveevskaya” station of the Kiev direction.
The girl reportedly took an emergency hammer from the train and used it to break the glass after exiting the train. According to reports, she kicked a hole through the window before repeatedly striking it with the hammer and throwing the tool into the driver’s cab. The incident was filmed by an observer.
Authorities apprehended the schoolgirl shortly after the incident. While some reports suggest she may have been intoxicated, there has been no official confirmation of this. The Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Transport confirmed that the girl was already on a preventative record. Following questioning, she was released to her parents.
The schoolgirl stated in a video, “I realize what I did. I promise I won’t do it again.”
The press service of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Transport stated that all collected materials related to the incident will be transferred to the investigative bodies of the Western Interregional Investigation Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia for a procedural decision.
A similar incident occurred in January 2021 when six individuals, including five minors, vandalized a train on the Yaroslavl direction. They broke windows and tore off seats, leading to a criminal case under the article on vandalism and administrative protocols against their parents.
