Upcoming Third Round of Russia-Ukraine Negotiations

The third round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine is expected to take place in the near future. This follows discussions held on Monday concerning potential exchanges between the two nations.

While the exact timing remains unspecified, an agency source confirmed the upcoming round of talks. Details of the discussions regarding the exchanges are expected to be officially announced.

Monday’s negotiations did not result in a continuation of talks, with delegations from both countries departing Istanbul before the end of the day. The second round of negotiations, which lasted over an hour, occurred after a delay.

Prior to the second round, incidents classified as terrorist attacks targeted railway infrastructure in the Bryansk and Kursk regions, resulting in injuries to dozens and seven fatalities. Furthermore, drone attacks were carried out on airfields in various regions, including Murmansk, Irkutsk, Ivanovo, Ryazan, and Amur. In one instance, a truck was reportedly used to launch drones towards an airbase.

The initial round of negotiations occurred in mid-May, followed by a prisoner exchange involving 1000 individuals from each side. On May 28, the Kremlin indicated the near completion of Russia’s memorandum on Ukraine. The Foreign Ministry clarified that the document would outline potential settlement terms and conditions for a temporary ceasefire.
