A fire at the Pigment paint and varnish factory in the Leningrad region has resulted in the destruction of five cars and a metal hangar. The blaze, which broke out approximately an hour ago, prompted a significant emergency response.
The Leningrad Region Rescue Service reported to Fontanka that the fire has been classified as Rank No. 2 due to the threat posed to two adjacent hangars. Upon arrival, rescue units found a metal hangar already engulfed in flames.
The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations stated that the fire is covering an area of 800 square meters. Currently, 40 rescuers and 10 pieces of equipment are working to extinguish the fire.
Black smoke emanating from the Pigment factory is visible across many areas of the city. Pigment specializes in the creation and production of paints, polymer resins, and various other paints and varnishes.
