St. Petersburg is gearing up to host its tenth annual Fontanka SUP festival on August 2nd, with registration already exceeding 7,000 participants. Organizers report enthusiasts from across Russia and several international countries are set to converge for the carnival-style paddleboarding event through the city’s central waterways.
The festival has drawn participants from 227 cities within 84 regions of the Russian Federation, demonstrating its nationwide appeal.
In addition to Russian participants, SUP surfers from 10 countries, including Belarus, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Germany, France, and the USA, have also registered.
Participation in the Fontanka SUP festival is free of charge, but pre-registration is mandatory. Participants must obtain a starting number prior to the event to be allowed on the water. The festival is open to adults only. Registration is capped at 10,000 participants.
Following the paddleboarding event, attendees can enjoy the “Fontanka SUP Session” after-party. The event will feature performances by the Mirage Group, Tatyana Bulanova, Igor Kornelyuk, and the “Za4ertoy” group, along with prize drawings and a chance to win limited edition Fontanka SUP boards.
