Novosibirsk agronomists emphasize the importance of correctly pruning peonies after they have finished flowering to maintain the health of the plants. Leaving seed pods on the bushes can negatively impact the root system, so timely pruning is crucial.
All shoots with faded peonies should be carefully cut off using pruning shears, approximately 10–15 centimeters deep into the bush. Avoid breaking the shoots, as this can damage the plant.
In addition to pruning, it is recommended to feed the peony bushes with phosphorus-potassium fertilizers to ensure their continued health and vitality through the autumn months.
