A hailstorm struck the Kyshtovsky district of the Novosibirsk region on the evening of June 29, damaging crops. Eyewitnesses reported the icy precipitation in the “Incident Novosibirsk” group.
The regional Ministry of Emergency Situations issued a warning about the severe weather. Residents were alerted via SMS about the expected thunderstorm, hail, and storm-force winds, with gusts reaching up to 19 m/s.
Earlier in the day, the Federal State Budgetary Institution “West Siberian UGMS” had predicted short-term rain and thunderstorms for Novosibirsk in the afternoon. The forecast indicated an east wind blowing at 4–9 meters per second, with temperatures reaching +24… +26 degrees Celsius.
