Residents of an 88-year-old barrack in Novosibirsk are being relocated by the City Hall due to comprehensive development plans for the area. The barrack, located at 14a Dobrolyubova Street, was originally allocated to film studio employees.

The area, encompassing the barrack and nearby two-story buildings, falls within a zone designated for comprehensive development of the territory (CDT).

The building was declared dilapidated and slated for demolition in 2018. In recent months, a heightened alert regime was implemented, initiating the relocation process.

The territory, bordered by Nikitina, Dobrolyubova, and III Internatsionala streets, is designated for comprehensive development.

While the decision on CDT in the area is pending and the development timeline remains undefined, the relocation of residents is underway. The barrack, once home to prominent figures in Russian documentary cinema, was previously highlighted in reports about its dilapidated condition.
