A dispute between two participants in the special operation over differing political views in St. Petersburg’s Kalininsky district resulted in one man being hospitalized with a fractured skull. The incident occurred on the last night of spring in a playground and then escalated into the entryway of a residential building on Suzdalsky Prospekt.
The confrontation involved a 25-year-old man with a criminal record, who had been released from a penal colony to serve on the front lines and had since returned with an award, and a 51-year-old man.
The 51-year-old victim, who resides in the same neighborhood as his assailant, was transported to Elizavetinskaya Hospital with severe injuries, including an open head injury and brain contusion. His condition is currently considered serious.
Authorities are currently considering whether to initiate a criminal case following the incident.
