Ninth International Music Festival “Ruskeala Symphony” to be Held in Ruskeala Mountain Park

The ninth annual Ruskeala Symphony international music festival will take place July 18th and 19th in Ruskeala Mountain Park. This event, held for residents and visitors, features a diverse program across two days.

The festival commences on July 18th at 8:00 PM with the “Songs of Victory” concert. The Alexandrov Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Army will perform war-era songs and popular classics on the stage in the Italian Quarry.

The July 19th program includes a variety of performances, beginning with jazz music by Arkady Shilkloper and his jazz trio, who will play compositions on the alphorn. This will be followed by “Magic of Carillons,” featuring music played on musical bells by Timur Khaliullin.

Later in the day, the “Legends of Alania” choir will perform national songs. Subsequently, the “Khoroshki” orchestra will present a program on the water of the Marble Canyon.

The festival will conclude with a concert by the Karelian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra featuring soloists.

The primary festival stages are situated in the 18th–20th century marble quarries on the water, among rocky cliffs, with performers on special rafts. The festival combines classical, jazz, folk music, and modern works in classical arrangements. Further program details are available on the festival’s official website.
